Where to begin?
When describing the most important period of your life, it is hard to know where to start. Actually it doesn’t matter. The entire experience was intense, challenging, special, transforming, and significant. Caring for my parents was the ultimate learning experience. It was, as my friend had predicted from the beginning, a gift. |

 I have devoted major portions of my fifty plus years to learning. Along the way, I have gathered degrees and I have participated in some of the country’s top executive education programs.
Yet, the key learning experience of my life occurred not in New York where I work. It happened in my home town: Kalida, a village in northwest Ohio of 1030 people surrounded by farmland.
